A basic to intermediate level of English is usually expected by us. If English is not your first language or if you feel your English skills could use improvement, Flyfem academy have designed special language course modules and give regular practicing to enhance your language abilities.
While it is not always a strict requirement to know “perfect” English, a good command of the English language is typically essential for becoming cabin crew in most international airlines. English is the international language of aviation, and it is the standard language used for communication between crew members, air traffic control, and international passengers. Some airlines may conduct language assessments or interviews in English to assess your communication skills.
No, diploma in airhostess training is not required. The only certificate you need to become an Air hostess is 12th pass certificate. (For proof open any airline career page like: https://careers.goindigo.in/ifs.html and can check the eligibility conditions yourself). Some international airlines prefer a graduation. You just need to be trained on how to clear the cabin crew interview.
- Age: 18- 27 years is mostly preferred in domestic airlines. In International airlines, candidates with maximum 33 years of age can also get selected.
- both married and unmarried individuals are considered for cabin crew positions.
- Minimum 10+2 or graduation.
- Good Communication skills.
- It’s important to note that specific policies and practices can vary among different airlines and countries, and there may still be some regional variations.
The starting salary of a cabin crew member can vary depending on several factors, such as the airline they work for, their location, and the level of experience they have. As of my last knowledge update, Domestic airlines (within India) give starting salary between Rs.3.6 – 4.8 LPA while in International airlines, you can receive a starting salary of Rs. 18 LPA.
Generally, larger and more established airlines may offer higher starting salaries compared to smaller or budget airlines. It’s essential to note that cabin crew members often receive additional benefits and allowances, such as meal allowances, layover expenses, and discounts on flights, which can contribute to their overall compensation package.
Airlines do not discriminate based on a candidate’s skin tone.
Yes, Male cabin crew are also preferred by many airlines. Some airline companies require at least one male crew to be inside every flight as sometimes male passengers prefer to speak to a male crew due to certain medical conditions or due to religion, especially in Middle Eastern countries where there might be concerns over a man talking to a woman.
The weight and height requirements to become cabin crew (flight attendants) can vary depending on the airline and country’s regulations. For example, Indigo Airlines prefer a minimum height of 155 cm, and weight proportionate to BMI.
It’s important to note that the aviation industry has been gradually moving away from strict and rigid physical requirements, aiming for more inclusivity and diversity in their workforce. If you’re considering a career as cabin crew, It is recommend researching the specific requirements of the airline(s) you’re interested in applying to. In many cases, airlines focus more on other qualifications such as customer service skills, language proficiency, interpersonal skills, and relevant work experience rather than specific height and weight measurements.
